This is for the silent reader of MHO who wants to visit simla, amritsar, kullu manali and all. I am visiting the North India just 2 months ago. Just move on to the holy place Vaishnodevi first. It is very good place to visit and got the blessing of MataJi. It is 50 kms from Jammu, you'll get the continous bus from jammu to vaishnodevi having just 50/- per head of fare. Then if u r in katra i.e., Vaishnodevi, u'll get a luxury bus from katra itself somewhere around 10:30 P.M. which will drops you to amritsar at 4.00 A.M. early in the morning. It will cost you near about 150 /- per head if you r using the seat and if u r using sleeper then it will costs upto 200-250/- per hear. Then after reaching amritsar, u dont need to go for luxurious hotels as it is not required there, coz u dont have time to spent in the room instead of wondering the whole city. Just move on to Golden Temple and hire a room, which costs upto near about 100/- per room. Then after having bath take darshan of the holy place and move on the jalianwala bagh which is situated just besides the golden temple. Then after there is a durgyana mandir which is look alike of golden temple. You should go there, then after moves on to Wagha Border which is 30 kms apart from the city. It should be better if you visit wagha somewhere around 4 pm. bcoz its the time for parade. Its much better for you to take a taxi on hire for wondering the whole city instead of hiring any sort of guide there. The taxi driver while lead you to all this in just 500/- rs. Then you got the luxury bus from amritsar to simla or amritsar to chandigarh. It is much better to visit chandigarh. When you r in amritsar,You are just 4-5 hrs away from chandigarh. You got a volvo near about 2pm for chandigarh, then you reaches there at 6-7 pm. Stay there n visit the whole city next day. There is a rock garder, rose garden and some temples, which you should visit there. Then i personally suggest you if you are moving for simla, then you must have to move on the TOY TRAIN which is from kalka to simla. Kalka is just 35 km apart from chandigarh and you got the train from kalka in the early morning at 5am, also at 6 am. I am sure if you visit this train, you should never forget the journey in your entire life. Its fantabolous to see the nature in front of you. Its a world heritage listed train. You should have to move through this. Then if you are moving through the train to simla, it take 5hrs to reach there. In simla hire a hotel, almost every hotel are costly and good to stay there. But i personally suggest you to bargain for each and every thing in North, coz it works always. Its my experience. Then if you are in simla, then visit The Mall, its the royal street of simla, having the bazar, and all the things there. If you visit Mall, u would find that the shooting spot of JAB WE MET, 3 IDIOTS in front of you. Its very memorable to visit there. Then move onto the kufri point which is 20kms apart from simla, which the snow point. If you are very found of snow playing, then u should have to go there. If your luck works, then you should got d snow there. Then moves on to kullu n manali which is 280kms from simla. You have to move through road which is the only way to reach there.
