THE ETHEREAL TOWN
Located 53 km to the north of Almora, Kausani, is a picturesque hill station famous for its scenic splendour and its spectacular 300 km-wide view of the Himalayas. Snuggled amongst thick, dense pine forests, atop a narrow ridge, the view of the snow covered Trishul and Nanda Devi is so vivid that one gets a feeling of the snow being within touching distance.

The ethereal sunrise that Pithoragarh offers has attracted thousands of visitors to this place time and again. Eulogized by poets and philosophers, this scenic and beautiful spot has on offer something or the other for every visitor from sightseeing, history, sport and pilgrimage to complete relaxation all year round. In 1929, Mahatma Gandhi stayed here at the Anashakti Ashram, and was greatly impressed by its environs

Wake up with the chirping of birds, smell the wild flowers and watch the crimson rays of the sun paint this little hamlet of Uttaranchal with its own hues.

Excursion

Though Kausani is a superb travel destination in its own right, it also serves as a base from which you can make excursions to various other places of tourist importance. Other famous hill resorts of Nainital, Almora and Ranikhet make outstanding excursion options from Kausani and can be reached easily. These hill stations offer breathtaking views of the Himalayas and serve as the romantic gateways.

Then there are the famous temple towns of Baijnath and Bageshwar are close to the hill resort of Kausani and attracts a large number of devotes as e well as tourists all round the year.

The hill resort of Kausani offers the nearby attraction of a bird sanctuary to the wildlife enthusiasts at Binsar, which in close proximity to the hill resort. Binsar offers wonderful view of the Himalayan peaks like the Nanda Devi.

Adventure Sports

Kausani combines beautiful landscapes with a number of adventure sports. The hill resort offers the adventure seekers fine treks like the Bageshwar Sundardhunga Trek, Adi Kailash Trek and the Base Kausani Trek.
