Re: ~: M H O :~ Grim Reality of Indians

Hi Mr. Sen
I completely agree with you. Todays  world is living only for money and that is nothing wrong with in because this kind of inflation it is impossible to live without money .
But the most important is that nobody is opposing against this inflation . All are know the connection of politicians with this, especially Mr. Sharad Pawar . I dont have exact words for him  but now this is the time to stop this kind of inflation and we all have to come together .
I just wanted to say that haath uthao aur takat dikhao

How the Indian Society is deteoriating

Dear MHO friends what I am writing is shocking to all, might be embarrassing to many and even some may take the bitter facts with a pinch of salt. But this is the reality.

Today the Indian economy is really growing as being said in media and by our leaders at 8 to 10% but do a bit of pondering and thinking are we actually growing or only some are growing and many are becoming poor.

  1. The basic necessities ROTI, KAPDA, AUR MAKAAN of a human being is already out of reach for most. Note down the ground reality:

A decent 1 bed hall kitchen flat costs over 50 lakhs and that also in the distant suburbs of Mumbai. A person who even if he manages to get 100% loan will need to pay at present loan rates an EMI of about 45000 for a period of 20 years. So if the person is earning about 50000 a month he can very well forget about buying a decent house as he would have the house but nothing to feed him or his family. He has the following option:

i. To stay in a rented house all his life and keep changing his house every couple of years looking for something cheaper.

ii. To stay in a chawl or shanty which is affordable by his wages and not be weighed down by the heavy loan amount. Thereby, reducing his dreams of providing a good and safe surrounding for his family.

iii. To resort to criminal activities (cheating, swindling, stealing, corruption, etc depending on what he has access to).

So a salary of 50 thousand which looks good and is good to hear, is not enough to give this person a decent home to live in. Of the above 3 options majority of them opt for the 3rd option not by choice but by want. But think of it, the system itself is responsible for creating this mess.

The average Indian earns about 10000 rupees per month which gives just over 300 rupees per day. Now start doing the calculation how he can feed himself and his family with that wage.

            Rice – Rs 30/ kg

            Sugar – Rs 35/Kg

Cooking oil – Rs 80/ Ltr

            Onions – Rs 70/Kg

            Potatoes – Rs 20/Kg

            Any Veg – Rs 50/Kg

            Milk – Rs 25/ Ltr

            Eggs – Rs 48/ Doz

Above basic items excluding the masala's and spices almost takes up his entire wages that he earns and mind you I have not added the gas, electricity charges. Forget about dining out or taking family out for entertainment. Sometimes people are eagerly waiting for the pay day and towards the end people are probably feeding themselves 1 meal a day towards the end. Mind you we have not considered daily traveling expenses to and from the work place.

Also they can forget about any medical treatments or proper education for their children's as these are treated as luxury items for a family who can barely survive to think about their future.

So obviously this gives 1 more reason for people to take the path of petty theft, crime, cheating. But I guess when a person who is earning so less will also do any criminal activities of that small scale and when caught will be dealt very badly by the corrupt law. But think of it the system itself is responsible for creating this mess.

As of now I think basic clothes are so far affordable but as shown above if people can only manage to survive and having a place to live only then they can think of clothing.

So now facing the grim reality are we really growing or only the rich is getting richer and poor is getting poorer.

The politicians are getting richer, the central government employees (take it with a pinch of salt) are getting richer (thanks to the corruption – which exists heavily) and the ordinary working class who has to deal with these corrupt guys are getting poorer.

How can we blame the corrupt ministers when the entire machinery is well oiled with the grease of corruption?

First of all I ask the common man to peep within his / her character and see if he / she is clean before pointing fingers towards the corrupt ministers. We under some or the other pretext are criminals doing some petty crimes to try and survive or get a better living away from the meager honest wages.

In the bargain we are killing our soul of humanity.

Lets ask our inner conscious and pledge to lead a honest living thinking about our fellow poor Indians.

I think if our freedom fighters, who, had a great vision for free India had seen this today they would have cried blood tears at the deteoriation of the country and the plight of the country men going from poor to poorer.
