Bangalore: Its high time you let go off the gossip papers and tune to Twitter to hear it personally from the stars. The Bollywood stars sprinkled a little magic on twitter in India, lighted its torch and handed it over to their fans who were more than happy to take it forward. The potential growth predicted for the micro-blogging site among the Bollywood fan base is exceptionally huge as the film industry caters to an audience close to 2 billion people and the percentage of people connecting with the starts is very small today. As the celebrities know it very well that twitter works in their favor to effectively advertise themselves and their films, tweeting become a daily routine for the stars. 1. Shah Rukh Khan Among the King Khans of Bollybood, Shah Rukh Khan was the first to join Twitter and started tweeting online since January 2, 2010. His twitter ID is 'iamsrk' and he follows 49 people on twitter including Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, Leonardo DiCaprio and Shakira. He has huge number of followers on twitter which is at 882,247 now and is ever increasing with 2,150 tweets. SRK has the highest number of followers and most number of tweets comparing to other male stars in Hindi cinema. He is not a daily tweeter and usually abstains from controversies on the social media.   2. Amitabh Bachan India's most famous icon in the B-town, Amitabh Bachan is the most active tweeter among the Bollywood stars. He has been tweeting very frequently ever since he started on May 17 , 2010 and has been dare enough to tweet on socially concerned issues as well. He has 746,783 people following him on Twitter and has 7,885 tweets so far. He follows 38 people and tries to include all his daily schedules in his tweets to share with his fans. 3. Salman Khan The stylish Dabangg actor Salman Khan is a regular tweeter who likes to connect to his fans and update about his films and other humanitarian activities. He started his twitter saga on April 12 2010 and has been very activities ever since. His twitter ID is 'beingsalmankhan' and he describes himself as film actor, artist, painter and humanitarian on the site. He has 693,426 followers and has 1,027 tweets. He follows Sania Mirza, Preity Zinta, Sonakshi Sinha, Arbaaz Khan Arpita Khan. His last tweet was on 28th April 2011. 4. Amir Khan Amir Khan who joined twitter on November 10, 2010 has kept a low profile on the social media with infrequent tweets and updates. However, he has 686,816 followers and has only tweeted 8 2 times. It seems like the perfectionist actor has quit tweeting as with his last tweet is dated on 16 August 2010. He follows 5 people namely Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan, Karan Johar, Imran Khan and Salman Khan. 5. Hrithik Roshan The reigning heartthrob of Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan joined the Twitter family on February 11, 2010 and handles the account in the name of iHrithik. Although not very regular, he tries to be active on the micro-blogging site at least a few times in a month. He had tweeted only twice in the month of April. Hrithik has 565,986 followers and follows 36 people on Twitter including Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Tharoor and Madhuri Dixit. He has tweeted 639 times so far and his last tweet was on April 15. He engages very friendly with his followers on the site with cool replies to their tweets. An exceptionally huge potential growth for the micro-blogging site among the Bollywood fan base is predicted as the film industry caters to an audience close to 2 billion people and the percent of people connecting with the starts is very small today.
